WELCOME TO THE SHIPLEY HALL CRICKET CLUB WEBSITE

WELCOME to the web site of SHIPLEY HALL CRICKET CLUB( Founded 1899). The club is situated off the A6007; almost midway between the towns of Ilkeston and Heanor. We aim to provide cricket for the local community and currently operate with 4 adult and 5 junior teams (ages 8-18 years). Membership is open to all and spectators are welcome on match days. ELECTION OF CAPTAINS/NOMINATIONS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
The proceedures for the election of captains for the 2009 season are shown under Club News. The letter will also be handed out to players by team captains or is availalbe from the bar.
Nominations are also requested for the positions of Club Chairman and Club Vice Chairman for 2009.
Any questions arising from this subject should be referred to the Secretary.

DAVID COKAYNE IS 50 NOT OUT
This season David reaches his 50th year as a player for the club. To mark the occasion we are holding a Presentation Party at the club on Friday 12th September commencing at 7.00pm. All are invited and a Buffet will be available.
The approximate timings will be
Arrival and greet guests 7-7.30
Presentation and Speeches 7.30-8.00
Buffet from 8 pm
Stay as long as you like.
If you would like to say a few words on the night please let Mick North know.Cards/well wishes etc may be handed in to the bar on the night or to Mick beforehand.

UNDER 17 REACH FINAL OF THE JOHN STORER TROPHY
Our under 17's have reached the final of this trophy following a comprehensive semi final win against Quarndon.
The final will be against BELPER MEADOWS,Away. Date TBA

CLUB PARTICIPATION IN THE MANSFIELD & DISTRICT SUNDAY LEAGUE
If you have any views on the club's future participation in this league you should pass them on to your club captain. The cricket sub committee will be required to make a final recommendation on future club participation by mid September.

CLUB ORGANISATION
The Mangement Comittee of the club consists of the A/Chairman ( Peter Young),Secretary ( Mick North), Treasurer (Brian Hall)and Club Child Protection Officer ( Jim Sumner).
There are a number of Sub Commitees dealing with specific club matters:-
Cricket Committee - Chairman:Simon Lacey- all matters concerned with team selection and direct cricket issues.
Grounds Committee -Paul Cox
Buildings Committee - John Hunt
Bar Committee - John Purdy
Youth Committee - Steve Cope
Child Welfare- Jim Sumner
Finance- Brian Hall
Development - Neil Cox(Clubmark,Scoreboard,New Ground,Practice Facilities)
If you have any matters/questions you wish to raise please refer them in the first instance to the relevant sub committee chairman.
VOLUNTEERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME ON THESES GROUPS SO WHY NOT OFFER YOUR SERVICES.

CLUBMARK
The club is committed towards obtaining CLUBMARK status. This will raise the standards by which we operate and provide accrediatation within ECB and Leagues. It will be a future requirement for entry into the Derbyshire Premier League and is a stepping stone towards obtaining funding through cricket sources. Members should reference the Club library to view some of the applications that will apply which include:Constitution-Equity-Code of Conduct Members and Guests- Safe Hands.
Members can also view the progress the club is making towards clubmark by reference to the library item.

DERBYSHIRE COUNTY CRICKET 2008
Entrance tickets for two plus a car parking badge are available to members from the Secretary. These allow admission to all County fixtures except 20/20. Please contact Mick North.

YOU SHOULD READ THIS.- PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE COVER.
It is important that each member of the club should arrange Personal Accident Insurence Cover which provides for participation in sport and that best suits their own/family circumstances. The club has limited cover for Accident Insurance. Details available from the Treasurer.

KEEPING INFORMED.
It is members' responsibility to read notices, instructions, information etc that appears on club notice boards, dressing rooms etc. Ignorance of such info. is not an excuse.

We run 4 adult(3 Saturday .1 Sunday) and 5 junior ( KWIK, Under 11, 13 ,15 and 17)teams. Practice night for seniors is Tuesday night and, for juniors, Wednesday, from 6 pm. Non playing members and visitors are also very welcome.
